Product: Aquarium Munster - dessamor 20 ml x 400 l – pharmaceutical product for the treatment of fungal infections (Sparolegnia, Achlya) and accompanying bacterial infections of tropical fish
Types and quantities of active substances: 1 ml contains:
10.00 mg Copper sulfate
4.00 mg ethacridine lactate
2.75 mg methylthionine chloride
2.00 mg acriflavine chloride
Contraindications: None known.
Adverse affects: None known. If you do observe adverse effects with your fish, please notify us as well as your veterinarian or pharmacist.
Areas of application:
dessamor has been formulated for the treatment of fungal infections (Sparolegnia, Achlya) and accompanying bacterial infections of tropical fish.
The visible signs of fungal infection are cotton-wool-like patches.
Interactions with other dugs:
The simultaneous use of water conditioning agents can reduce the effectiveness of dessamor.
dessamor must not be administered concurrently with other drugs.
Dosage instructions, method and duration of administration:
Shake well before use. Unless otherwise instructed:
Day 1: Add 60 drops (3 ml) of dessamor to the aquarium for every 100 I of aquarium water. Do not feed the fish. Detach the filter from the aquarium.
In order to retain the microorganisms that are present on the filter, continue to run the filter attached to a separate container. Ensure that the aquarium water is aerated.
If aeration is not possible without the filter unit, we recommend that the filter is left to run in the aquarium but with the filter material removed to ensure adequate water circulation. In this case, the filter material should be kept in a vessel containing approximately twenty times as much aquarium water as the volume occupied by the filter.
Day 2: Add 30 drops (1,5 ml) of dessamor to the aquarium for every 100 I of aquarium water. Do not feed the fish.
Day 3: Do not administer any dessamor. Feed the fish as usual. Put the filter back into operation. If the filter material has been stored separately, the storage water must not be returned to the aquarium.
In this case lightly wash the filter material with lukewarm water. Do not wash the filter material too thoroughly in order to retain some of the microorganisms.
Day 7: Add 60 drops (3 ml) of dessamor to the aquarium for every 100 I of aquarium water. Do not feed the fish. Detach the filter from the aquarium.

Renew about 30 % of the water in the aquarium. Put the filter back into operation. If the filter material has been stored separately, the storage water must not be returned to the aquarium. In this case, lightly wash the filter material with lukewarm water.
Do not wash the filter material too thoroughly in order to retain some of the microorganisms. We recommend the use of aquavital conditioner and aquavital Stress Protect.
As a preventive measure following stress situations, half the stated dose may be administered.
The surface tension of dessamor means that problems with the formation and release of drops from the bottle about always be avoided.
Drops form best when the bottle is held at an angle and the base of the bottle is lightly tapped. Varying the angle of tilt allows the drop rate to be controlled.
Information in the event of an overdose, interruption or discontinuation of treatment:
If an overdose has been administered, half of the water in the aquarium should be replaced and the aquarium water filtered through an active carbon filter.
Adding aquavital conditioner at the same time will also help to bind some of the active substances. If you miss a dose, administer it as soon as possible.
Continue with the course of treatment using the prescribed dosage.
Special precautions and information:
- Lower organisms such as anemones, snails and shellfish will not tolerate treatment with dessamor and must be removed from the aquarium prior to commencing treatment.
- Medicinal products can cause damage to finely feathered water plants such Cabomba aquatica.
- The intensive coloration of the water arises from the active substances in dessamor and disappears again after a few days.
- Do not use after the expiry date.
- Keep atl medicines out of the reach of children.
- Protect dessamor from exposure to light and heat. Always store in its original packaging.
- dessamor is a medicinal product for veterinary use.
- Do not administer to animals that are for human consumption.
